    Abstract
    In the paper is emphasized the imperative (jus cogens) character of the provisions of 1967 Outer Space Treaty and by virtue of it prerequisite of conformity to it of the states national space legislation and their contractual space practice. Such conclusion proves to be true due to the practice of application of this Treaty within four decades. The expired decades have confirmed the customary law nature of the 1967 Outer Space Treaty and by virtue of it its universal legal sphere of influence. The countries which have not joined this Space Treaty yet, do not contest its legal validity. Paper pays attention to the fact that the 1967 Outer Space Treaty has created the legal basis for regulation of the International Space Station activity. The special attention is given to the international significance of 1967 Outer Space Treaty for the realization of projects of the exploration, use and habitation of the Moon and other planets of Solar system. The author maintains the idea of firmness of the text of the Outer Space Treaty but not exclude a possibility of Protocol acceptance in the capacity of means to supplement or improve it.
    Anniversary of the 1967 Outer Space Treaty testifies its vitality in the present and the future development of mankind.
