- Abstract
Tether systems are a perspective direction of development of space technologies. They can be used for the various purposes, including for return of small payloads from low-Earth orbits as, for example, in experiment YES2 which carried out by European Space Agency on space vehicle "Foton-M3" in September, 2008. Key element on which the success of tether system deployment depends on, is qualitative navigational tracking of experiment. In the report original navigational tracking system of tether system deployment specially created at the Samara State Aerospace University which has been established on space vehicle "Foton-M3" is described. The navigational system consisted from two navigational antennas, the fixed-frequency two-system satellite radio navigation receiver and magnetometer. Special algorithmic complex which allows to restore practically in real time full state vector of that space vehicle on which it is established has been developed. Besides as the payload separated on a tether influences on motion of a basic space vehicle, it is possible to control process of deployment of a tether system expanding state vector and making special processing of measurements. Results of preliminary processing of the measurements received from a navigational tracking system of tether system deployment of YES2 gave capabilities to estimate as space vehicle "Foton-M3" motion during of experiment as make indirect conclusions about real tether system deployment.
