    Abstract
    Development of the Improved LE-5B Engine, namely the LE-5B-2 Engine, has been performed based on the contract with JAXA, to reduce the vibration level for the second stage of H-IIA Launch Vehicle.
    Qualification tests have been completed in July, 2007 and the first LE-5B-2 has been applied for the second stage engine of H-IIA Launch Vehicle No.14 (H-IIA F14).
    On February 23rd, 2008 H-IIA F14 was successfully launched in Japan, and by this flight, significant reduction of vibration level has been confirmed.
    The feature of the LE-5B-2 Engine and results of improvement are presented.
