    Abstract
Present orbiting Mars missions (Mars Express and MRO) have enabled a thorough re-visiting of Mars History, with an emphasis on its early evolution while Mars might have harboured habitable conditions. Relevant data will be presented and discussed, in the framework of the upcoming missions with goals to detect and characterize potential extinct or extant life.
