    Abstract
China attaches great importance to the space debris issue. The space debris mitigation research program has been comprehensively carried out through research groups like space industry, universities and Chinese Academy of Science. Under the frame of "Eleventh Five-Year Plan for Space Debris Research", China has arranged four kinds of research programs as passivation design for satellite, de-orbit disposal for launch vehicle orbital stage, operational debris control and reentry risk control.

Another important progress in mitigation field is the kick-off for research on space debris mitigation standardization program. With this effort, China Academy of Space Technology and Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology will study more than ten standards for management and technical issues throughout space activities, which will be of far-reaching influence on China space activities.

The major progress on space debris mitigation research in China is presented, with special focus on the standard study for space debris mitigation.
