    Abstract
IMS-1 is a microsatellite in the 100kg class, designed and developed with miniature sub-systems as a bus to carry payloads of up to 30kg. The first satellite in this series is a remote sensing satellite, which carried two payloads, one being a four band multi-spectral camera with 37m resolution and the other being a sixty-four band hyper-spectral camera with about 505m resolution. Apart from these miniaturized payloads, the other mainframe sub-systems were also miniaturized in order to bring about the performance of operational IRS kind satellites into the microsatellites. The satellite was launched on April 28, 2008 and has been regularly providing the images. The current paper describes the technologies achieved and the performance of these new sub-systems on-orbit.
