- Abstract
SRM grain will be endured to a certainty stress and strain in long period natural storage,and this stress and strain can induce propellant damage,while the damage extent and evolution rule is essential to the grain’s structure integrity and natural life research.After stress and strain analysis of SRM chamber grain,standard specimens of HTPB propellant are employed according to the actual stress and strain level in chamber storage condition.Then researchers finish series storage experiment,which are conducted with variety fixed strain\{5\%,10\%\}and stress \{0.04MPa,0.06MPa,0.10MPa\}level.Tensile experiments and mechanical capability analysis are completed after different loading time \{30,60,90and180days\}.The characteristic items such as structure deformation,comeback and residual deformation of propellant specimens are investigated.Then the efforts focus on modulus E0,tensile strength $\sigma$m and tensile extencibility $\varepsilon$m ,and their variabilities to damage are also researched by dimensionless process.The research indicates that the propellant behaves distinctive viscosity deformation,which attributes to a fixed stress or strain in long time.Since there are other combined influences such as chemical ageing during the storage,the modulus E0 increases,while the $\sigma$m and $\varepsilon$m falls as a result of mechanical damage,propellant $\varepsilon$m falls obviously.
