    Abstract
Enhancement of cavitation characteristics is essential in developing turbopumps for liquid rocket engines because it is connected with pump stability(thus, safety of turbopumps) and tank pressure(thus, weight of propellant tanks). In this study, a series of cavitation tests are performed using water as a working fluid to achieve enhanced cavitation performance of a fuel pump for a liquid rocket engine. According to the test results, it is found that the inducer highly affects on the cavitation performance, while the impeller has less influence on the cavitation characteristics. Besides, it is observed that the inducer-impeller axial gap and the shape of pump inlet also influence on the cavitation performance.
