    Abstract
    Korea has been rapidly grown up in the capacity of developing space technology past 20 years since 1989. "choice and concentration" policy of korean government enabled this result even in the short history of space development. but it is important to let the people know and educate them the necessity of space development. 
    
    The purpose of this paper is to analyze the status of the space science education at the mid and high school and propose opinions for expanding the space education oppertunity in the Republic of Korea. at first, the space education contents in the curriculum of the mid and high school text book will be analyzed. The total teaching hours of the mid and high school science subject will be grasped and the hours of the space science education will be compared with the total hours of science education.  
    
    To analyze the status of the space education of the republic of Korea, the Japanese space education status will be analyzed by the same method as Korean space education status analysis and compare the contents and teaching hours of the two countries. By doing this way of comparing two countries of the status of space education, it will be able to know the status of the ordinary space education system of the republic of korea.
    
    This paper also present the space awarnesses which is held by commercial, institutional way outside the school. space related education, exhibition at the space museum andt the science festival which is organized by local government in Korea will be presented.
    
    Finally, this paper will be concluded with the proposal of possible way to expand the space education opportunity for the students in the Republic of Korea.
