    Abstract
    A paper discusses the major principles of Russia’s international space activities and cooperation in general. The officially established goal of the Russian Federation’s international cooperation in the field of the space activities is an active participation in the global space projects and strengthening the national space industry position in the international space market. 
    
    The main directions of the international space activities’ support by the government is assisting the national industry in searching and implementing the international contracts, supporting the technology partnership programs, building the legal environment of the cooperation, partnership diversification in both number of cooperating governments/agencies/firms and scope of the cooperative programs, support of the international technology control regimes, etc. 
    
    Fifteen major principles of the country’s international space activities had been developed by the Russia’s Federal Space Agency research team and laid a basis for the following programmatic activities in this field. The recent practical implementations of these principles include the activity under an umbrella of the Tripartite Space Dialogue between the EC, ESA and Roscosmos set up in March 2006 in Brussels, Belgium. The examples of the most illustrative current international programs are briefly discussed. The overview of the advisable forms of the international space exploration for the decades to come is provided.
