    Abstract
In celebration of African participation in the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition organized by the International Institute of Space Law, the Nigerian branch of the African Alumni Association of the International Space University organized a workshop in collaboration with the Nigerian Bar Association (Lagos) and Kayode Sofola and Associates to discuss what space law means in Nigeria in particular and Africa in general. The workshop sought to provide a forum for the Nigerian moot team to meet Nigerian and other space law experts, as well as to educate Nigerian lawyers about the field of space law as part of the NBA Continuing Legal Education initiative. Following presentations on international space law; space education; the Moot competition and space activities in Africa, breakout sessions as well as question and answer sessions were held to discuss how Africa can participate more in space law initiatives or whether Africa has any role at all to play in the development of space law or space in general. The paper summarizes the findings of the workshop.
