- Abstract
Successfully conducting a space mission continues to be complex, costly, and full of risk. Some of these factors can be alleviated by learning from within and among space organizations for successful practices and expert knowledge. The work of the IAF Knowledge Management for Space Organisations Technical Committee (KMTC) seeks to help in these areas. The work covered in this paper will address the Committee's efforts to: \begin{itemize}\item \end{itemize}Promote and facilitate discussions for knowledge sharing amongst organizations conducting space-related activities \begin{itemize}\item \end{itemize}Promote the adoption or sharing of standards and methods for easing sharing of data, information, and knowledge on space missions amongst organisations \begin{itemize}\item \end{itemize}Operationalize recommendations from the IAA Knowledge Managemetn for Space Missions Study Group as appropriate within member organizations The findings here will help organizations to be more successful in completing missions and capturing the lessons from previous failures and successes.
