- Abstract
The Information Office of the State Council of China published a white paper on China's space activities in 2011 on 29 Dec.2011. It was the third white paper on the country's space activities issued by the State Council Information Office. The previous two were issued in 2000 and 2006 respectively. The white paper is the authoritative document which elabrated China’s space policy. It will directly guide China’s space activities in the next 5 years. This paper included two parts. The first part will expound the main content of the white paper China's space activities in 2011. The white paper set forth the purpose and main principle of development of China’s space activities. It summarizeed the progress and achievements of China’s space activities in the past 5 years. It also provided the main missions and measures in the next 5 years. The white paper also pulished China’s policies on international space cooperation. The second part comparativly analysised the new development of China’s space policies. Compared to the 2000 white paper and 2006 white paper, the 2011 white paper stressed the principle of use of outer space for peaceful purpose. It also highlighted the new thinking of scientific and innovative develop in the space industry. According to the white paper, the paper made a conclusion that the space industry of China will make progress in the next 5 years. China will become a member of space power in the world.
