    Abstract
    I. Abstract

This paper evaluates and analyzes whether a Mega-Space Fund could positively impact the commercial space industry. Other academics and thinkers have assessed whether a mega-fund could positively impact other capital intensive very high, risk, very high reward enterprises. In a very provocative paper presented at the National Academies of Sciences, entitled, “How Financial Engineering Can Cure Cancer,” Andrew Lo of MIT, argued that a $30 Billion Mega Fund could help bring cancer drugs to the market place in a financially more efficient fashion. Why not Space? Specifically with a fund focused such possible opportunities as the development of a space elevator and on the possibility of utilizing funds to repurpose the the International Space Station. A properly utilised space labratory has the possibility to bring the benefits of micro gravity research to the biotech, nanotech, A.I., material sciences and other sectors to accelerate their work respectively.

Many people around the world petitioned the Nobel Prize committee to consider awarding the International Space Station the Nobel Prize for peace. The first Nobel Prize involving space should be in the area of economics, for the development of the concepts and notions for economically sustainably developing the final frontier.
