- Abstract
The presentation describes the current status and remaining activities to achieve launch readiness of the new geostationary European weather satellite systems, METEOSAT 3rd Generation (MTG) a little over one year before launch, and of the sun-synchronous EUMETSAT Polar System 2nd Generation (EPS-SG), some two years before launch. Special emphasis is put on the associated processing facilities, the overall system integration, verification, and validation (IV&V), and new data dissemination and access opportunities for users. Also the planned transition from the current systems to the future systems is explained.
