    Abstract
In this paper, we are proposed a novel technique to track ships and extract various information such as ship id, location, source and destination details about ships travelling in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. As security concerns due to the transport of goods and ship movement on sea, a ship detection and identification system (SDIS) needed for traffic management and control. In our proposed technique, we have used AIS receiver and cloud service to get the location and meta details of the ships in the MENA region. We will shape all the extracted information into a visually useful smart system which will predict the arrival of the ship. Also the extracted information can be utilized for enhancing the security of the Ships. The data can be further more used for historical analysis, machine learning and early warning system by integrating with weather forecast systems. Our proposed application will be highly useful for the middle east region where the busiest and largest harbor is located in Dubai.
