    Abstract
There are many manga and anime that take place in or deal with space. In many cases, the works that we encounter in our childhood can shape the rest of our lives. How have Japanese manga and anime dealt with space so far? On the other hand, Japan is a country with an extremely large gender gap among developed countries. Therefore, this paper investigates the differences in the treatment of space in manga and anime for boys and girls, as well as the differences depending on the gender of the characters appearing in the manga and anime, and examines and reports on the possibility that these differences influence interest in space and future career choices.
