Description: A better knowledge of the space environment and its effects on spacecraft is necessary to optimize design margines and avoid failures during space flight. The session will deal with: space environment and effects modelisation, standardisation in space environment and effects models, space weather prediction, lessons learned from in-orbit failures due to space environment.
