- Abstract
Distinguished dignitaries will discuss the future of human exploration of space from a variety of national and public-interest perspectives. Never before has this topic attracted such high level of interest. Major events that will fashion the discussion include: China’s entry into the exclusive human space-flight club last year; the Shuttle Columbia accident; US President Bush’s announcement in January for a bold new Vision for NASA; the success of the Spirit and Opportunity Mars Exploration Rovers and the unprecedented public interest in these missions.
