    Abstract
2004 has generated incredible excitement in the exploration of the planet Mars. Mars Odyssey and the Mar Global Surveyor continue to provide
data from orbit. The latest explorers, the Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, together with Mars Express have produced a wealth
of new information regarding the Red Planet. Indeed, Opportunity has confirmed that water once flowed on the surface of Mars. Each day, new
information arrives increasing both the knowledge and new questions regarding the enigmatic red planet.
New advanced robotic explorers are planned, commencing in 2005, to help provide further answers to the past history. Four distinguished
panelists from the USA, Europe and Russia will discuss results of the current missions and plans for future missions to the red Planet and its
moons. Discussion of the results, particularly the search for water, and the potential of the future Mars exploration missions over the next 10
years will set the context. Following introductory remarks, a panel discussion will be moderated by the Plenary Chairman and then a significant
time will be set aside for audience participation through questions and answers.
