- Abstract
Sexuality is composed of sex, reproduction, sexual behavior, gender, sexual identity, eroticism, emotional attachment etc., and is an important factor to establish the basic property of the human being as well as to maintain the sexual health. It affects seriously the nature of each individual person, individual daily life and human relations in society (Promotion of sexual health, Guatemara, 2000). On the other hand, the step of human being toward space was gradually accelerated in the latter half of last century, and the speed of the advance will be much more increased with the prospect of colonizing Moon and Mars in this century. Consequently a great number of people will stay for long time in space in future. Many space scientists have frankly expressed themselves on a prospect that someday space babies are coming. We are also sure that the human being will try to reproduce their descendants in the space life. In such a situation, sexuality will become a great issue for forming a human society where the humanity and the species of homo sapiens should be ideally maintained. Considering the future space life which is more restricted in various points than the telestrial life, reproduction and sexual behavior will become the most important issue among the components of sexuality. Therefore we believe that it is now the time to start systematically the study of sexuality, particularly reprodutive activity in the space life. The reproductive medicine and physiology to maintain and promote the sexual health will become essential in the space life. We are summarizing the issues related to sexuality in the space development.
