    Abstract
Construction of new 50M drop tower to give 3 seconds Microgravity time is now going on in Hokkaido, Japan. The facility provides microgravity quality of 10-3 x G0 (G0 is a gravity level on the earth) or better and inner capsule of 500(diameter) x 800(height) in mm for payloads. Since combustion phenomena are strongly affected by presence of gravity and their time scale is generally short, many research subjects in combustion science are expected to proceed extensively with aid of the facility even it provides only 3s microgravity time. In the paper, the detail description of the facility and status of the construction will be introduced. Further, the effective way to utilize the facility for combustion research will be discussed by introducing the examples of research attained previously by the authors.
