- Abstract
The necessary condition of the economy development of any country is the informatization of the society. The introduction of the informatization programs in the whole country allows to solve industrial and social tasks in full scale and more effectively. In the nearest following organizations are supposed to be the users of satellite telecommunications services: -traditional operators and telecommunications companies expanding the scope of services for their users; -corporations using satellite telecommunications in their technological process; -TV \& Radio companies and multimedia content providers, seeking for channels for information distribution; -regional authorities who use satellite communications for regional tele-radio broadcasting, rural communication, access to the central educational resources for schools. Nowadays the Russian information streams via space make about three percent of the world space traffic (300 transponders). For Russia the approach to the world informational level will demand significant growth of the space information traffic. By 2015 the expected demand for satellite capacity will reach 600 transponders. The main condition of the satellite communications development is the introduction of new high-tech solutions allowing to give a new quality and lower the cost of the services. The examples of such solutions in space segment are: -Increase of the transponders power and extension of the frequency range; -Shaped antennas; -Linearized transponders; -Digital processing and switching on-board; -Cluster architecture of satellites in orbit to increase the reliability of the constellation. Solutions for the ground segments: -VSAT technology development; -New methods of coding; -Frequency-saving methods of modulation; -DVB-RCS standard for satellite channels.
