Abstract

The Italian Soyuz Mission, named ENEIDE, will be performed from April 15 till the 25, 2005. The mission is sponsored by a pool of Italian regional sponsors from the Lazio region in Italy focused on the performance of an on-board scientific and technological programme to be performed by the ESA astronaut of Italian nationality, Roberto Vittori.

The mission organisation, the integration process, the international cooperation, the ground segment and mission operation will be outlined, highlighting the main challenges, achievements and implementation preparatory to Columbus missions operation.

Special attention will be paid to the composition of the in-orbit activities programme, its preparation, the mission implementation reviews outcomes and the set up of the operational infrastructure hinged on the Columbus Control Center (COL-CC) in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany.
