- Abstract
The Bisei Spaceguard Center started to observe space debris with special stress on space debris orbiting around geosynchronous orbit using the 0.5m and 1m optical telescopes. We measured around ten thausand positions of objects and detected several satellites orbiting near some of important Japanese satellites, which had not been noticed by Japanese space community. Through our survey observations, we deteceted several hundred objects, some of which are identified with cotalogued objects, and the other of which can not identified with those catalogued. Our limitting magnitudes are 16.5 and 18.0 magnitudes for the 0.5m and 1m telescopes, respectively, which are not so good expected from those telescope specifications, and therefore both telescopes are still under improvement those limitting magnitudes. The accuracies of position determination are under 1 arc second which is good enough to determine orbital elements of each object using 3 consequitive nights data. We will review our results obtained in these 5 years.
