    Abstract
A bare electrodynamic tether is proposed in the sounding rocket experiment as a space experiment for observation of e-layer density. The bare electrodynamic tape tether is stored in the box with the foldaway storage method, which is a new concept of tether deployment schemes. Although there still remains some further testing of the tape material this method is expected without any serious trouble in the deployment rapid development. Moreover, the bare tape tether is expected to have high durability for the debris, and has good performance of electroconductive feature.
In order to prove this new technology. On ground fundamental experiment is studied. A test facility has been developed which installs the bare tape tether vertically, and the two rollers are mounted to simulate the dynamics on the orbit. The bare tape tether is deployed from lower position to vertically higher position by the drive of the two rollers device. As a result, it is expected to attenuate horizontal disturbance in comparison compared with the past experiment device. The present experiment system is designed to have a performance to deploy 1000 meters of the bare tape tether. The experiment system is designed with compatibility to attach single tether device which can deploy and retrieve 20km single tether.
The present paper, will report on the result of fundamental experiment with the experimental apparatus stated already, and to simulate the behavior of the bare tape tether in the sounding rocket experiment.
