- Abstract
The thermal project of artificial satellites has a relevant uncertainty generator factor associated to the mechanical joining of two materials. Determining the thermal conductance (thermal contact resistance of these regions and thermal conductivity of the materials) is essential for compute the heat transfer that takes place in the system. The improvement of the measuring instrument of these design parameters in the LIT (Laboratory of Integration and Tests) of the INPE (Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais – Brasil), has been made. Experiments for its calibration and, finally, accomplishment of experiments to validate theoretical models considered in latest works and published articles will be made. The effect of the pressure in the contact will be considered, as well as the direction of the flow of heat, the materials and the roughness of the surfaces in contact. The works were driven by cooperation between ITA (Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica) and INPE/LIT teams.
