Within discussion of feasibility of modification of existing engine RD-120 of second stage, for which does not required deep throttling, the problem of ensuring of such requirement was investigated additionally on the assumption of actual engine-prototype capability. The main issues of ensuring of deep throttling of modified engine at accounting analysis of conditions of static stability are studied. Main restrictions on chamber pressure, determinated with engine component design, was founded. It is shown, that it is possible to ensure engine throttling without design changes only up to 73To ensure 40It is proposed to use a throttle at pump exit, which increases smoothly its hydraulic resistance during engine throttling process, that allows to ensure required level of chamber pressure at deep throttling mode, but with keeping of lift-off seal design. Static stable of engine parameters is ensured at all analyzed modes.
