    Abstract
This presentation describes the new version of the Soyuz launch vehicle, the Soyuz ST, derived from the Soyuz FG and equipped with a digital control system and a 4.1 m diameter fairing.

This vehicle will be the reference Soyuz launch vehicle for commercial launches at Baikonur and at the Centre Spatial Guyanais (French Guiana).

The 4.1 m diameter composite fairing is adapted to all commercial satellites platforms as well as to key European governmental missions. The digital control system increases the launch vehicle’s robustness and allows future evolutions of the propulsion systems.

A fully successful qualification flight took place on November 8, 2004 results of which are presented here. Several customers already signed launch services with Starsem using this new version of the Soyuz launch vehicle. The first commercial flight of Soyuz ST is now planned for early 2006.
