    Abstract
The Peer-to-Peer Financing Opportunity provided to entrepreneurs, private corporations, and private investors interested in commercializing space technology has increased dramatically with the expansion of the Information Revolution. Many people know of the entrepreneurs who have amassed billions or hundreds of millions of dollars in personal wealth by financing and building companies that commercialized information technologies like satellite television, satellite radio, satellite navigation receivers, satellite remote sensing GIS software, and satellite-broadcasted multi-channel cable television, but few people understand the impact that the Information Revolution has had on financiers and consumers who must be made aware of these new products in order to make a commercial investment or commercial purchase decision concerning these new commercialized technologies. If the present day world did not possess televisions with 500 channels of content or a World Wide Web of 8 Billion web pages indexed by Google, then it would be extremely difficult for a consumer to find out what new products Virgin Galactic might provide for the sub-orbital space tourist market or for a venture capitalist to learn why it makes business sense to invest in XM Satellite Radio instead of Teledesic. The Peer-to-Peer financing opportunity for private investment in space technologies commercialized from national governments is found in the ability of a consumer, and investor, and an entrepreneur to understand how that particular technology applies to a market or a need within the commercial world. The Peer-to-Peer financing opportunity allows an entrepreneur untrained in rocket technology, like Elon Musk of Space Exploration Technologies, to acquire employees and customers for his rockets in under 3 years. The Peer-to-Peer financing opportunity allows an Internet Search-Engine company like Google to understand and acquire a satellite imagery pioneer like KeyHole. The Peer-to-Peer financing opportunity for technologies being commercialized out of national government space programs is an opportunity to leverage digital and computer technologies to understand what markets and investment opportunities can be unlocked by the application of these technologies in the commercial world. The opportunity for commercial investment in space technologies is expanding rapidly, and the likely positive returns on those investments can be quantified by the private sector.
