The name the chief of range Kapustin Yar (of Kap Yar) of Vasiliy Ivanovich Voznuk (1907 -1976) – of the outstanding organizer of tests of the most part of the Soviet ballistic missiles of first three generations, - is poorly known on the one hand, owing to his superprivacy and on the other hand, - because of incomprehension by the Western world of the significance of this post owing to essential difference of conditions maintenance of tests of rockets in the East and in the West. The world knows outstanding designers of the Soviet rockets of S. Korolev, M. Yangel, V. Utkin but very few people knows, that their successes, realization of the conceived projects depended on a maintenance of technology of launch of rockets ran-ge. V.I. Voznuk was born in 1907 in the city of Gajsine of Vinnitsa area, near to Zhito-mir where S.P. Korolev was born. They not only come from the same part of Ukraine, but they are the same age: S.P. Korolev was born on December, 31, the future chief of rocket range V.I. Voznuk was born in the first day of new year. History of a life of V.I. Voznuk is a his-tory of a phenomenon of the Soviet rocket progress when the engineers with experien-ce of launch of military rocket of small radius of action were testing the ballistic missiles.
