    Abstract
The appropriate use of remote sensing data from outer space may contribute to the regional/global peace and security. The author has proved the legitimacy of this activity in IISL colloquia for years. In the present world, not only armed conflicts but also environment, natural disaster, etc. are thought to be included in the security concerns. The concept of security has expanded wider. For instance, to keep the lives of the human beings safe and sound also is considered as one of the cores in (human) security.
In this article, the author will analyse the imaginable ability of the Asia Satellite Centre, which mainly uses the civil remote sensing data, especially in Tsunami disaster case. The relationship between this Satellite Centre and other regional organizations and/or mechanisms and the effectiveness of the activities by the Centre, etc. will be discussed.
