- Abstract
Recently, a new method has been proposed to generate a jet of monodisperse microbubble suspensions in microgravity, based on the injection of a previously created slug flow in a capillary tube T-junction. A first series of drop tower experiments was conducted recently. Here we present a detailed numerical study of the dynamics and structure of the jet flow in a finite-size cavity in the conditions of above microgravity experiments. We compare the collective dynamics of an ensemble of passive tracers with the observed behaviour of the bubble suspensions. Results relevant to a new experimental setup in preparation for a future microgravity campaign are also presented.
