Abstract

In Russia with its vast territories satellite technologies proved to be the most efficient way to deliver communication services to remote areas. Satellite communications is an example of how space communications may be in demand on the market and profitable. The impact of advanced space technologies is illustrated by the Yamal satellite project implemented by Gazkom Company and RSC Energia.
Implementation of the advanced space technologies (high power parameters, unpressurized modules, shaped antennae, linearized transponders) improve both power and telecommunication features of the satellite, providing a cost efficient solution for the customers of the Yamal satellite capacities.	
Gaskom/Energia experience in this area proves the effectiveness of Russian satellite communication developments.
