    Abstract
FORMOSAT-2 is the first Earth observation satellite owned by Taiwan. It is a high resolution remote sensing satellite with 2 m ground sampling distance (GSD) for panchromatic band and 8 m GSD for multi spectral bands. After successful launch on 20 May 2004, the check-out and commissioning of the satellite had been completed in July of the same year. Started from August 2004, the National Space Organization (NSPO) of Taiwan initiated the imagery products business of FORMOSAT-2. The purpose of this paper is to present the state-of-health (SOH) trending analysis results of FORMOSAT-2 after two years of mission operations in orbit. Some degradations have been found, especially in the power supply subsystem.
Nine subsystems need to be checked from time to time for the conditions of their SOH:
    1. Attitude and Orbital Control Subsystem (AOCS): friction force of reaction wheels, magnitude of angular momentum generated, etc.
    2. Reaction Control Subsystem (RCS): tank pressure.
    3. Thermal Control Subsystem (TCS): temperature ranges of many check points.
    4. Command and Data Handling Subsystem (CDHS): functions of central processing unit, functions of solid-state recorder, etc.
    5. Tele-command, Telemetry and Communication Subsystem (TTCS): functions of S-band and X-band antennas, transmitter, traveling wave tube amplifier, etc.
    6. Electrical Power Supply (EPS): solar panels, power regulator and distributor, etc.
    7. Remote Sensing Instrument (RSI): charged couple device (CCD), image processing unit (IPU), etc.
    8. Flight Software (FSW): 5 code patches have been uploaded to the satellite.
    9. ISUAL (Imager of Sprite, the Upper Atmospheric Lightning): This is the scientific payload of FORMOSAT-2.
Besides the hardware and software mentioned above, NSPO performed orbit maintenance once during the previous two years of mission operations.
