    Abstract
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Advanced Mission Research Center has studied Space Solar Power Satellite (SSPS) since 1998. Now JAXA makes feasibility study of two types of SSPS, microwave based SSPS and laser based SSPS. Tests of wireless transmitting energy on the ground in both microwave and laser are prepared as main subjects in SSPS study. The purpose of these tests is to find various problems in the system of wireless transmitting energy by practical tests.

In the test of microwave type the distance of transmitting will be 50m, and transmitting power will be 5KW. JAXA aims at receiving energy of 1KW in this test. Main subsystems in test of microwave type are magnetron, transmitting antenna, rectena, inverter and electric equipment for demonstration. It is assumed that problems in this test are stability of power after inverter when transmitting power is unstable, power characteristic when rectena is damaged partialy and so on.

In the test of laser type the distance of transmitting will be 500m, and transmitting power will be 800W. JAXA aims at receiving energy of 100W using solar battery of silicon type. Main subsystems of this system are laser generator, control system for pointing laser beam, optical equipment and equipment for photoelectric conversion. It is assumed that prbrems in this test are transmitting efficiency by weather condition, thermal damage of optical equipment and so on.

These tests will be carried out practically from 2007. We show the status of preparation in these tests in this paper.
