    Abstract
This paper will describe the creation of the Israeli Space Society (ISS). The ISS is an independent, public, educational, nonprofit organization dedicated to the vision of creating a space faring society in Israel. In just over one year of existence, the Israeli Space Society has gained nation wide recognition, as a major player in the field of space establishment, as well as a prominent moderator of space related issues to various levels of the public – governmental officials, the press, k-12 students and the general public.

In order to fulfill it’s vision, The ISS acts to promote the exploration and development of space, to increase governmental budgets towards space exploration, to encourage the private sector to be more involved in the field of space sciences and exploration, and to motivate the next generation of space explorers - the young kids, youth and students.
The ISS roadmap to the stars, includes, among other issues, the following: International Cooperation,
Creation of a National Space Policy,
Removing Government Obstacles to Space Commercialization ,Government Funding of High Risk R\&D ,	Unrestricted Access to Space, Promote awareness to, and change of International Space Treaties.

The article will describe the various projects of the ISS, such as the Nation wide space quiz, the mobile space sciences education project, international cooperation, the student’s satellite project and more. Space is part of humanity, and it is our future. The Israeli Space Society acts as a low-budget NGO and lean substantially on volunteers. The ISS structural framing can be adapted by other similar organizations, and is innovative and efficient.
Our political action has already made its mark on the governmental policy, as well as the national media and public opinion. Our educational enterprises were included in the curricula of schools by the ministry of education. The Israeli space society was established on January 16, 2003. There is much to do, and as our motto states – the sky is our lower limit!
