- Abstract
Currently in Russia at the basis of several academic institutions and educational establishments there prepared a series of space experiments for their realization at International Space Station. Participants of this program are Department of Education of Moscow, Institute of Biochemical Physics of Russian Academy of Science, Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman, Moscow State Center for the Youth Creativity, Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, Energia Corporation, All-Russia “Soyuz” Aerospace Society, Center for Technology Transfer, other space organizations. Greater part of these experiments is technological and bio-technological research, aimed to finding new composite materials and biological materials with improved qualities. The program of conducting these experiments assumes involvement of wide range of young people – high school, university and PhD students – in the research with the goal to widen their knowledge and preparing them for future scientific activity. During the period of 2006-2007 it is planned to conduct experiments, which are either conducted for the first time or are natural continuation of research conducted previously at orbital stations “Salyut”, “Mir” and International Space Station: polymerization of composite material in open space, a-biogenic synthesis of amino-acids and nucleotides in condition of space environment, bees in the conditions of orbital flight, cultivation of plants in condition of micro-gravity under the influence of magnetic and electric fields and others. On permanent basis students, under the leadership of teachers, scientists and experts, will participate in planning, preparation and conducting scientific and educational experiments on board of International Space Station.
