- Abstract
This paper will discuss the business and legal realities facing the Canadian/international space industry in their desire to provide technology to the developing commercial space transportation ventures - or to “power the race”. With specific discussions on NASA’s COTS (Commercial Orbital Transportation Services) Demonstration solicitation, and the business and legal hurdles facing respondents such as commercial investment, regulatory requirements, export control rules, and international trade issues among others.
