- Abstract
At the beginning of the 21st century we know that the Universe began some 14 billion years ago with a Big Bang, and that it has been expanding since then. The observable elements of the Universe (stars, galaxies, etc.) have grown from small ripples in an otherwise uniform cosmos, probably seeded during an early phase of the Universe’s history when the Universe underwent a phase that we call inflation.
