    Abstract
    The device "Sonocard" was developed for researches during night sleep at International space station (ISS). It is fixed in a breast pocket of the special vest dressed by the cosmonaut for night. The device includes the accelerometric gauge, the amplifier-converting block and the electronic memory. In the morning the signals, written down in memory, are read out to hard disk of onboard computer and then transferred to the Earth for processing and analysis. This device since November, 2007 is used for carrying out scientific researches on ISS.
    	 Within last two years the researches in somnological clinic have been carried out by means of «Sonocard» and its analogue - "Cardiosleep-3", to compare received data to the results of traditional polysomnography. Thus the opportunity for reliable recognition of sleep stages and judgement about sleep quality has been shown. The special software allows not only to determine a heart rate, frequency of breath and movement activity within all night, but, in many cases, to analyze a heart rate variability. It is especially important for estimation of cosmonauts functional state at performance of responsible operations, for example, during spacewalks. After a necessary stage of scientific researches the opportunity to use a new method of the physiological information reception for the perfection of medical control system will be studied.
    	 Advantages of physiological signals registration during the night sleep period in cosmonauts are the following:
    -    it is not required additional working hours for carrying out  the medical control;
       - researches are spent always in standard conditions of rest and for a long time, that provides high reliability of received data;
        - the night sleep represents natural functional test, where shifts of sleep stages cause the changes in autonomic regulation of physiological functions;
         - the sleep is a recovering process, during which the functional reserves, spent during day period, must regain; it allows to use the registered during sleep physiological data for judgement about functional reserves;
         - the studying of sleep stages and phases allows to determine sleep quality, which is important for estimation of psycho-emotional status and a degree of human adaptation under conditions of long space flight.
