- Abstract
Exploration science goals of a nature are often restricted to planetary sciences, astrobiology, and origins of the universe and life The global exploration strategy encompasses these and more in an ambitious program that will require international efforts to achieve. Obstacles to overcome include radiation effects on humans and machines, improved energy use and communications. Significant advances in both science and engineering are required. Most engineering advances will stem from the science advances in such diverse fields as nanotechnology, informatics and biology. The Canadian Space Agency invited representatives from government, academia and industry to discuss how they could work together to enable space exploration. The conclusions of this workshop and actions planned in response will be described.
