    Abstract
This presentation will give an overview of recent achievements within ESA's life science programme. Results will cover basic biology, human physiology and radiation studies, as well as applications in medicine and biotechnology. The results have been obtained using ESA's suite of experimental platforms: bed-rest and other ground-based studies, parabolic flights, dounding rockets, orbital capsules and of course the ISS and the ESA Columbus laboratory.
