    Abstract
Indian Micro-g experiments programme focuses on both of the important elements of work in this field namely, orbital processing and ground level reference experiments. The quasicrystal growth experiment conducted aboard the Indian recoverable space capsule last year validated the physical phenomena on which the scientific rationale of the experiment was based. Another experiment aboard the capsule provided an insight into the processes of formation of nano-structured self-assembly and aligned growth in a bio-mimetic material. Work is in progress in various R&D and academic institutions in the country for the 1-g reference and microgravity- simulated experiments. The present paper aims at providing a programmatic overview of the field of micro-g materials processing in India.
