    Abstract
In 2007 the interesting book "Lunar Odyssey" was issued by the "Akademperiodika" Publishing House in Ukraine. One of the Chapters written by author was devoted to the history of "Moon's Race" during 1950-1970 yrs.
This presentation will deal with the chronicle of these events highlighting key points in a way of a science-technological "Sur Place" between USSR and the US (including such periodization as a) before Lunar Odyssey, b) 1959-1960 yrs, c) 1961-1968 yrs, d) 1969-1976). A special attention will be focused on the role of personalities, such as Yu. Kondratyuk, S. Korolev, W. von Braun, M. Yangel, V. Chelomey, and V. Glushko, as well as the role of astronomers, cosmonauts, and political leaders.
Due to the un-manned and manned space missions of these countries the Moon is mapped almost as the Earth, and even the Mare Cognitio was renamed as the Mare Cognitum.
Now we are eyewitnesses of the Lunar Odyssey-XXI discussing ambitious plans of many countries and space agencies. We hope that this Odyssey will have humanistic goals and will finished by the IAU and IAC resolutions "Moon Cognitum".
The Ukrainian contribution to the Moon exploration both in past and future missions will be also subject of this presentation.
