- Abstract
The stratospheric satellite is a new kind of Aerostat?which is composed of super-pressure stratospheric balloon, a gondola containing science packages, energy system, tethers, stratosail. Following the atmospheric circulation, it can circulate around the earth (northern hemisphere) from the east to west at the height of about 35km above earth. The north and south direction can be controlled by traction of stratosail?Comparing with traditional flight vehicle, stratospheric satellite has the advantages of low cost, easy to maintain, recyclable and can be repeated reused. It can also be used as platform of wireless communication, space-based observation, atmospheric measurements, military investigation and battlefield monitoring as well. In this paper, the working principle and key technique of design scheme, including the balloon material, super-pressure value and tethers material selection and its intensity analysis, together with appearance and quality distribution design of the stratosail, pneumatic traction calculating and energy system design, have been discussed. The design of stratospheric satellite theory model has been accomplished in the final part of the paper.
