- Abstract
An autonomous orbit determination method utilizing Sodern Corp.’s STD16A dual conical scanning infrared earth sensor and star sensor is investigated. The sensors provide the vector direction information of the earth center and the stars. By introducing the EKF algorithm, large amount of simulation results are carried out to analyze the influence factors upon the navigation precision. To fulfill the satellite autonomous navigation, two onboard autonomous initial value selection methods are also considered. The simulation and the hardware-in-loop test show the effect of the attitude-sensor-based autonomous satellite navigation strategy.
