    Abstract
    In order to extend the lifetime and integrated capability of spacecraft, on-orbit service technology is being increasingly focused on by many countries. On-orbit service system is a complicated space application system. An effective and available estimation approach plays an important role in on-orbit service system research and application. Generally, on-orbit service mission includes three parts, on-orbit maintenance, replenishment and assembly.
     
    The definition of system effectiveness is a capability measurement. With this capability the system could satisfy the mission requirement. The system effectiveness is the function of system capability, availability and dependability. Effectiveness evaluation of on-orbit service system is the capability measurement of a space system satisfying service mission. The effectiveness evaluation of on-orbit service system is the key to requirement analysis of on-orbit service system, and it also extends the development and application of on-orbit service system.
    
    The structure, function, and technology index system of on-orbit service system are presented according to the designing requirements of a new on-orbit service system,. The arrangement compartmentalize of on-orbit service system effectiveness, including availability, dependability and capability, are classified and researched. Based on the ADC method of WSEIAC (The Weapon System Effectiveness Industry Advisory Committee), effectiveness analysis and designing method of effectiveness evaluation system, we establish the effectiveness index system. The index system could express tactics and technology function of on-orbit service system exactly and easily. After summarizing relevant system effectiveness evaluation technology and applying the method of analytical hierarchy process (AHP), we analyze the effect which single technology index has on the whole on-orbit service system efficiency, by using the idea of sensitivity analysis. Finally, we establish a reasonable and integrated index system of effectiveness evaluation, and construct the process of effectiveness analysis, and we also present the structure scenario of effectiveness analysis.
     
    Some numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of this method. The results demonstrate that the method of effectiveness evaluation and analysis for on-orbit service system is a viable approach. And it is also concluded that the new method of effectiveness evaluation presented in this paper could be applied for on-orbit service system in the future.
