    Abstract
The authors hope to encourage small satellite builders by showing that reasonably priced access to space is not really the hurdle that it is often perceived to be.

An analysis is made of the small satellites launched in recent years by type, country and prime manufacturer. What launch was used and the type of launch method adopted (dedicated, shared or piggy-back) is also taken into account.

The authors draw on their combined experience and show how many of the perceived barriers to launching small satellites can be overcome.
