    Abstract
NASA’s Innovative Partnerships Program (IPP) develops many technologies for NASA’s programs and projects through a portfolio of technology investments and partnerships. The investment portfolio includes Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), the IPP Seed Fund, and NASA’s Centennial Challenges prize program. This paper discusses some of the methods used in managing this portfolio, including communications and coordination with NASA's mission directorates to ensure complementary technology development activities, use of TRL assessments to track progress of IPP Seed Fund projects, introduction of TRL tracking as a management tool for NASA SBIR/STTR projects, and increasing likelihood of technology infusion by advancing TRL maturity thereby reducing risk.
